This one goes out to all my fans...
...yup, that's you B!
Thanks for your question...it was getting pretty lonely on this end ;)
You asked: Do you find that your taste in home decor/interior design is similar to what you dress yourself in?
Well...yes and no: my home decor "style" is very minimal, and the palette consists mainly of black, white, red and dark brown (wood). I do tend to dress in a minimal fashion (not many accessories and not much layering), and funny enough I noticed yesterday on the way to work that I was wearing black pants, a white pinstriped shirt, black vest, and RED sunglasses LOL... and driving my red car.
But I don't want you to think I'm weird and ONLY wear the colours I have in my house. You can see from the (limited) pictures I have here of my outfits that I like wearing various colours and patterns. In fact, although I always think of red as my favourite colour, I rarely wear it, and when I do it is usually in accessories (shoes, belts, purses and sunglasses)
Until I got married and bought my house I had no idea what I would one day like my home to look like. I started off buying many pieces of furniture that I wasn't particularly in love with, but slowly I've discovered that I gravitate towards mid-century modern and contemporary decor, with a few eccentric pieces thrown in. I've always thought that I dress in a modern fashion, liking to keep up with trends (or at least knowing what they are) and sometimes taking risks, although they seem to be fewer and fewer as I get older).
This is my favourite home decor magazine: DWELL
What about you? What's your favourite home decor style? Do you have a favourite interior design magazine or website you'd like to share with me?

Question period
Following the example of some of my favourite bloggers, I'd like to give anyone who reads my blog the opportunity to ask me anything they'd like to know about me. I'll answer your questions in a future post.

Black lace
I can see how this look could go really wrong, but of course these ladies did it just right (whether on a dress, top or stockings, which I MUST still get). I have a black lace dress from H&M that looks like Louise's below...and I also have a black lace clutch which I should be able to incorporate into some evening looks. How would/will you wear black lace?

New purchases :)
I just got my most recent Forever21 order in the mail - it's always so exciting opening the box and trying to remember everything I ordered LOL
Here are most of the items I got (a couple are no longer available on their website, but included a plaid skirt and a long black sweater vest that I know I'll wear over and over this fall/winter):
^I have a thing for high-cut tops (is that what you call the opposite of a low-cut top?). I almost never wear anything that reveals cleavage...just one of my quirks I guess
^I definitely won't be wearing this to work, but I'm already daydreaming of how it will look with my light wash jeans or jean skirt and sandals :)
^This picture does NOT do this dress any justice, so I'm really glad I bought it. It fits perfectly, and may well become my favourite dress right now!
^This skirt is veeeeery form fitting (maybe I should have gotten a size bigger) so I hope I actually have the guts to wear it to work...it will definitely grab the attention of one or two male passers by.
^ FINALLY A FEDORA!!! I didn't want to miss out on yet another one, so this is the item responsible for the rest of the purchases (I had to buy a bunch of stuff to get a discount and free shipping...makes sense, right??)
^This is such a girlie item, but I couldn't pass it by - it's so cute, and the time was right when I opened it.
Have YOU bought anything recently from Forever21? What was it?

Stars
Wearing stars adds such a fun, young touch to an outfit...there's no way you can feel like a sophisticated, powerful woman if you're sporting stars all over your outfit. Don't you agree?
