Zara shoes

These shoes are gorgeous...and everywhere! I know Zara is on sale, so I'm trying my best NOT to walk by a Zara store. I'm really trying not to go shopping right now, but all of you aren't helping me! I mean, look at these beauties:

Tag

I'm honoured to have been tagged by a wonderful girl, B, from Playground Love.

The rules: “List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they’re not any good, but they must be songs you’re really enjoying now, shaping your spring. Post these instructions in your blog along with your 7 songs. Then tag 7 other people to see what they’re listening to.”

1- James Blunt - Same Mistake This song was in the soundtrack of a novela (Brazilian soap opera) I was watching recently, and now it's one of my favourites
2- Alicia Keys - No one Alicia Keys has such an amazing voice, and this song just makes me sing...I especially love singing it while driving LOL
3- Daft Punk - Around the World This song will always reminds me of one of my best summers, and I still love hearing it
4- B - Morning A beautiful love song to listen to while lying in bed in the morning and the sun rays coming through the window
5- Enur feat. Natasha - Calabria I looooove this beat. Sad that she passed away last year (I believe)
6- Eu sei que vou te amar / Tu sais je vais t'aimer A beautiful Brazilian love song (with a French complement)
7- Belo - Tua Boca Another beautiful Brazilian love song featured in one of the best Brazilian novelas I've seen.

Now I tag YOU! (if you haven't yet been tagged)

One minute it's here...the next minute it's gone!

I hope I learned my lesson! I was sooooo excited 2 days ago when I did my daily check of the Canadian Forever21 website, and found a beautiful straw fedora for under $13! Here it is:

It was perfect...now I just needed to buy another $60 worth of stuff to get free shipping (makes sense, no? LOL).
Sure enough, yesterday when I got home, I went to buy the hat (and the other stuff)...and IT WAS GONE! :(
Next time...maybe.

Out and about...

Hello everyone!
So I haven't had much time to blog in the past couple days. My mother-in-law is visiting from Europe and staying with us for a couple of weeks, so we're out doing stuff all the time (which is great!).
Yesterday we went down by the lake for a stroll, and today we went strawberry picking. I'm exhausted but enjoying myself...we're hoping to get lots of different activities going in the next week or so.
Here are a couple of random shots taken yesterday and today of my daughter and I:

I want that hat!

Not everyone looks good in a hat...I've always heard that, and thought it to be true. So can anyone tell me how come all the examples I found look stunning? I really want a straw fedora hat - I know it's very trendy, and I probably wouldn't get much use out of it, but sometimes it's enough for me to just own something (WOW that sounds so bad, but it's my reality...I have more than a couple of items that I've bought and have never worn, but feel great just looking at them). I'm definitely a consumer!!!

So here are some of the girls responsible for my NEED for a straw fedora hat:

And these are only a "few" of those responsible...YOU may also be to blame my friend, so don't look all innocent!!! Tell me the truth now: do you own one? Have you posted one in your blog? If so, then I think it's your responsibility to pitch in to buy me one :)

Have a great day!!!

What I'm wearing today

Hello everyone! I'm soooo excited cause I got my Canon xti yesterday evening!!! Yay!!! I've taken soooo many pictures already, that when it was time for today's outfit picture....the battery died! NOOOO!!! So I had to rely on good old Canon Powershot (2 megapixels LOL):

Forever21 top
Zara vest
Miss Sixty jeans
Nine West wedge sandals

I like how the front picture looks like I have short hair, but from the back you can see its true length :)

Here are a couple of random pictures of my closet that I took with the new camera:

What I'm wearing today

Dress - Forever21
White flats - Aldo

I'm doing my best to wear tons of casual outfits before having to start work again. While at work we have "casual fridays"...but they're not that casual :(

Isn't she lovely?

Want to help someone realize a dream with a mere click?
It's simple, and totally worthwhile!!!

Her name is Laurel Stovall, and she's a sweetheart, a fellow blogger (check her blog out here), and a gorgeous specimen of a girl!
She's competing in the V Magazine model search, and deserves to win! I'm doing my part by voting every 24 hours, now it's time you help out - just go here and vote! Vote from home, vote from work, vote from school, vote.... get my point? hehe

Brown belt on black outfit

I love the simplicity of this look. Like most women I have tons of black in my wardrobe, and adding a brown belt can provide you with a wide range of new looks...just like that!

Jean Jackets

Do you own one? Do you regret having gotten rid of the one you had years ago? (I do!)
I own 3 jean jackets, but I'm wanting the one I gave away long ago...isn't that always the way?? My husband still has his light denim jean jacket from years ago in the back of the closet, although come to think of it I don't think I've ever seen him wear it...
It's a good thing he didn't listen to me (this one time only hehe) when I told him to get rid of it - I tried styling it for myself, and it may actually work...or I'll probably just end up buying one for myself (and never giving it away!).

Here's how jean jackets are being worn these days by the stylish girls out there:

And some streetstyle pictures too:

So I just realized that all the blogger references I have are from European girls! Do you see this trend where you live too? I know I've seen Rumi and Camille wearing jean jackets, but we all know they're great style inspiration!

Most of these girls here are wearing their jean jackets paired with skirts or dresses, which I think is an updated way of wearing them...NOT with jeans!!! Don't you agree?

PS. Aren't you proud of me? I learned how to insert links in my posts! I feel like an official blogger now LOL (Why didn't anyone tell me it was soooo simple?!?!)
